Our Student Council are concerned about the speed limit on Chancellor’s Road outside our school. They are campaigning for a temporary speed limit of 20mph during busy school times. As part of this campaign they invited Department of Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins MLA, MP Daire Hughes and Councillor Cathal King to discuss their concerns. Also present were officials from the Department of Infrastructure. The Student Council made a presentation to the invited guests and impressed all present with their knowledge of the issues, the research they had carried out and how they spoke getting their message across very effectively. We certainly seem to have some potential politicians of the future at our school!
